Time Holiday: A New Era of Mobile Living

Chester Goh's Award-Winning Design Revolutionizes Mobile Homes

Time Holiday, the brainchild of designer Chester Goh, redefines the concept of mobile homes. Drawing inspiration from sustainability and tiny living, this design presents a unique, eco-efficient solution for homeowners seeking to reduce their ecological footprint.

Time Holiday is a series of mobile homes that can be effortlessly transported to any location, irrespective of terrain or topography. These homes, which do not require a foundation, save on total costs and prevent unnecessary construction waste. The design allows homeowners to connect with nature and lead a serene, peaceful life.

The design's unique properties lie in its outer structure, which is made of a curved, one-piece fiberglass material. This material is adaptable to various climates and is flexible for use in different topographies. The interiors feature a full-frame, floor-to-ceiling double-layer laminated, insulating glass that offers 360-degree unobstructed views of the outdoors. The structure is based on a pull-out mechanism, allowing for the expansion of the guest room area.

The mobile home's flexible system enables the structure to be pulled out or retracted through a drawer mechanism, providing space flexibility according to needs and venues. It can be installed within a day and operated individually or within a cluster in any location. The design's dimensions are 11800 X 7500 X 4500MM when assembled on-site and 10000 X 3000 X 3000MM when packed and shipped.

The design's realization technology and specifications are a testament to the designer's commitment to sustainability. The pre-fabricated structure is equipped with solar panels, naturally ventilated windows, and recycled tiles for the interior specification. The main exterior frame of the structure is prefabricated in factories and then transported and assembled on-site, minimizing construction waste and reducing the time required to build.

Time Holiday faced the challenge of breaking away from the traditional container-like typology of mobile homes. The design takes after an organic shell, compact when transported and spaciously luxurious when assembled. This was made possible by having a pull-out mechanism within the main structural frame. The entire villa can be laid out and positioned in any manner, individually or in a group, providing ample possibilities for the users.

The design's success is evident in its accolades. Time Holiday was awarded the Golden A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award in 2021, a testament to its outstanding and trendsetting creation that advances art, science, design, and technology. The intellectual property rights belong to Lazycat Travel, 2021.
